les visages du petit nanterre

For one month in the summer of 2023, in Petit Nanterre, the children pick up microphones and cameras: they film their towers, the orchard, a rescued magpie, the iguana on the green balcony, and they interview the people they meet. People talk to them about human wealth, the riots that followed Nahel’s death, school and community work, and then about the shantytowns, the transit housing estates, and the workers’ hostel that opened in 1964.

One month in the summer of 2023: microphone and camera in hand, the children of Petit Nanterre question their neighborhood, all the way back to the history of Nanterre’s shantytowns.
